Heaven’s Grocery List
Sunday, October 5th, 2008Today’s Scripture ~
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. – Galatians 5:22-23
Sabrina Shares On The Scripture ~
The Lord has spoken to me a lot lately about this scripture and I find myself desiring more and more to continually be a reflection of the words… and of course, a reflection of Christ. I think that sometimes, we all lose sight of what being a child of God means and instills within our hearts when it truly is Him we seek. A friend of mine was telling me a story the other day about a situation that was happening during that day and made this statement to me, “I had to stop and think about the fruits of the Spirit and try to figure out which one I was going to choose to show instead of showing how aggravated I was in the situation”. An employee of a particular establishment had absolutely shown a lack of interest or care in what my friend needed very badly and instead of allowing the situation to get the best of him, he made the choice to be an example of Christ. It can be so hard sometimes, can’t it?…to show such things as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control…. I know that, for me, sometimes it really is, but over the past few days God has really spoken to my heart and soul about allowing the fruit of His spirit and presence to be what shines through when satan comes against me and tries to “push my buttons” and make me weak in the moment. Yes, we all struggle with this at times but I believe that the Lord has shown me that when we walk through the “isles” of the “store” of life… we must make wise choices. We must be cautious and mindful as to what we bring into our hearts… our lives… our families… our relationships. May we all PRAY BEFORE WE ACT. It is my desire to search the “isles” in “Heaven’s Grocery Store” for the fruit of the Spirit… and allow those precious gifts to grow and shine from within me…. Are you with me, my friend??? Love and blessings to you today! May He be glorified through our actions…
Sabrina Shares A Story ~ Heaven’s Grocery Store
by Ron DeMarco -
I was walking down life’s highway a long time ago.
One day I saw a sign that read, “Heaven’s Grocery Store”.
As I got a little closer, the door came open wide,
and when I came to myself I was standing inside.
I saw a host of Angels, they were standing everywhere.
One handed me a blanket and said, “My Child shop with care”.
Everything a Christian needs is in that grocery store,
and all you can’t carry, come back the next day for more.
First, I got some Patience, Love was in the same row.
Further down was Understanding, needed everywhere you go.
I got a box or two of Wisdom, a bag or two of Faith,
I just couldn’t miss the Holy Ghost, it was all over the place.
I stopped to get some Strength and Courage to help me run this race,
but then my blanket was getting full, and I remembered I needed Grace.
I didn’t forget Salvation, which like the others was free,
so I tried to get enough of that to save both you and me.
Then I started to the counter to pay my grocery bill,
for I thought I had everything to do my master’s will.
As I went up the aisle, I saw Prayer and had to put it in,
for I knew when I stepped outside, I would run right into sin.
Peace and Joy were plentiful, they were on the last shelf.
Song and Praises were hanging near, so I just helped myself.
Then I said to the Angel, “How much do I owe”?
The Angel smiled and said, “Just take them everywhere you go.”
Again, I politely asked “How much do I really owe?”
The Angel smiled again and said,
“My Child, Jesus Paid Your Bill A Long Time Ago.”
May JOY be the source of your SMILE…
and may JESUS be the source of your JOY!!!
There Is No God Like Jehovah!!!
My Prayer For Us All Today ~
Father, I thank You for what You have shown me over the past five days and pray that in the message You’ve given me to share here that You will constantly remind us all to be a beacon of light shinning through with the fruits of the Spirit and stand in strength and victory against the attempts and attacks of satan on our lives. Lord, I know that satan would like nothing better than to have us all in agony, defeat, desperation, discord and discontentment… but in Your holy name, I claim victory over every person and heart that receives this message today… Fill us with the eagerness to live in the way You have called and with an unquenchable thirst for the Living Water. May we all know that where we are right now can be used to Your Glory and Your Honor. Thank You, Father, for the mercy we are given!! Praise You in all things!! In the mighty and MAJESTIC name of Jesus!!!…– Amen!
