Come Unto Me
Today’s Scripture ~
”Come to me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My load is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30

Wow! Those words absolutely speak volumes, do they not?!!?! I fell in love with these words, spoken by Jesus Christ, when I was only 15 years old. Singing in our church youth choir, the leader handed us sheet music for a song called “Come To Me” and from the very first time we went through it… my heart was forever touched and there have been so many times that I’ve remembered those words and sang that song in my head over the years. My life has been the victim of my head-strong ways, ups and downs in the Lord and many times of rebellion from the path I knew God willed for me… but still those words were seeded into my heart forever. Praise God that now, at the ripe old age of forty (HA! I can finally say it without cringing), He has made those words even more real within me and gives me such strength and courage to carry on.
My friend, God desires to do this with you as well… in your every day struggles and pains of life. We live in a hurried and busy world where it seems that in many ways God takes a back seat as we attempt to “carry” our load on our own. He reminds us in these scriptures that we do not have to face the load alone…. We DO NOT have to carry the burden and fix things alone! When you begin to feel that the struggles are just too much to bear, step back from your pride and allow your Heavenly Father to take care of it for you. Give it to Him… Humble yourself before Him and allow Him to prove the Word that He gave to us IS what HE CAN DO. There is a song that says, “I know my God can do it. To Him, there’s nothing to it!” Stand on that promise. Believe in that promise. Hold tight to it and cling to it and feel a peace come over you no matter what the situation is… big or small. Be at peace, this day! Sit back and just watch what He can do.
May JOY be the source of your SMILE…
and may JESUS be the source of your JOY!!!

My Prayer For Us All Today –
It’s me again, Father… Your humbled daughter… coming before you now and believing You RIGHT NOW in this moment to touch each friend reading this message. May they hear Your word in their hearts and know that You alone can make their burdens easy. I praise You for not only hiding this promise in my heart but also for taking this seed planted even now in their hearts and doing great and mighty things within us all. We give our burdens to You now and humbly thank You for taking care of it all for us. Give us strength, Lord and brush over each of us with a peace that ONLY You can give. Praise Your Holy Name now and forever! In the MIGHTY name of Jesus!!! – Amen.
